What I Wore – Alex Perry dress!

Last night Brian and I hosted the Snowflake ball in the Shelbourne Hotel. All proceeds raised went towards vital equipment needed for Crumlin and Temple Street Children’s hospital.

It’s so important to help these hospitals in any way we can. I’m absolutely blessed with Ollie that we’ve never needed to avail of them but I’ve seen the incredible work they do and they need all the support they can get.

A few weeks ago I spotted a photo of an incredible dress that was coming soon to The Ivory Closet in Limerick. I text Sheila straight away and said “bagsy that dress” 😉

I often get gowns or occasional wear from the girls in The Ivory Closet. We’re pals since the start- they have a fantastic selection of designers, I’m always thrilled with what I find here.

This stunning dress is by an incredible Australian designer called Alex Perry. I’ve worn lots of his dresses before- they just fit like a glove. This one is definitely one of my favourites to date. I would call it more orange than red. The structured shoulders make this dress and the lace detail is simply beautiful.

I wore my nude Cari’s Closet heels with them – I love these. Everyone needs nude heels; they’ll go with literally everything.

I used a little sparkly gold box bag that I’ve had for over a year from New Look. It’s ridiculously tiny and fits nothing but hey, I’m not going to start getting practical now!

pippa earcuff

My ear cuff is from Warehouse – see here (I spotted it yesterday while getting THAT jacket!! Happy Christmas to me!!)

The ear cuff actually stayed on and didn’t really hurt like some of them.

My hair was done in Peter Mark Stephen’s Green- Terri did my colour to see my through until the New Year. I don’t know what colours she puts in but she does a lovely job- I’m always happy with it. She curled it quite tightly with a GHD then Darren took over – he brushed it out and literally pinned it loosely, whichever way it fell. I told him I wanted it back off my face and very undone looking. He did exactly what I had in my mind. I think it complimented the high neck of the dress well.

pippa hair and makeup

My make up was done by freelance make up artist Sarah Keary. It was my first time to have it done by Sarah and I was thrilled with it- she did such a lovely job. We went for a smokey eye and winged liner with a nude lip.

I used St Tropez self tan dry oil the night before- I only applied a small layer of this as it was my first time to try it so I was airing on the side of caution. It developed well – it was light though so the next time I’ll apply an extra layer. Just before I put my dress on I sprayed a light layer of Cocoa Brown Lovely Legs… I’d describe this as a make up for your legs – It covers any imperfections and provides a good brown colour. Just don’t spray it in a white bathroom – yikes!!

I hope I’ve covered everything?!

Thanks for all the lovely comments last night…

Have a lovely Sunday evening. I can’t wait for my pjs and X Factor!

Much love,
