Stretch Marks and beyond

I wanted to do a piece on creams and oils I used during pregnancy.
Lots of woman have asked what products I used, so speaking from my experience these are the ones I liked best and that worked for me.

Bio Oil

I think everyone’s heard of bio oil, it’s a product I’m sure most people have at home, and if you don’t have it you should buy it. It’s multi functional which I love.
Not only is it good for use during pregnancy but its great for very dehydrated skin, scars, ageing skin and uneven skin tone. I use it as a cuticle oil too, basically i use it everywhere! If you’re on a budget and want something that works and keeps the stretch marks at bay this is for you.

Bepanthen Stretch Mark Cream

I really liked this cream. It contains Centella asiatica (I had no idea what that was either until I looked it up!) Centella asiatica is a tropical plant which is known to stimulate collagen production resulting in reinforcement of the skin. Which is just what we want with our growing belly. It kept my skin feeling very nourished and soft.
You can use it during and after pregnancy
I got this in a hamper for my baby shower that my friend made up herself.
There were lots of other Bepanthen products for baby in it too- I thought that was a lovely gift idea.

Clarins Stretch Mark Control

This was one of my favourites. This is such a luxurious cream that you can feel work instantly. It’s odourless which some people prefer especially when you’re pregnant. It’s not sticky or greasy , it just sinks into your skin straight away. It’s not just for your stomach, it’s excellent for your chest, hips and thighs too.

Burt’s Bees Mama Bee

Belly Butter – I went through the whole tub of this in the last 3 months of my pregnancy, I would literally lather myself in it. Usually I’d put this on in the mornings after a shower.
It contains Shea butter and vitamin E.
This cream is very thick but it dried instantly. It’s fragrance free also. It left my skin really soft. Again it can be used after pregnancy also.

Nourishing Body Oil- I loved this oil. At night time I’d apply it everywhere before I got into my pyjamas. It’s a good idea to apply right after a shower either to wet skin.
It smells devine, of sweet almonds and lemon.
The vitamin E keeps your skin subtle and moist.

Leg & Foot Cream- This is a rich cream containing peppermint oil and rosemary extract. It smells gorgeous. It’s so cooling when applied to your feet and legs. Great at the end of the day if you’ve sore or throbbing feet. It’s instantly soothing. I loved this and found it so relaxing.

The Burt’s Bees products are 100% natural and aren’t tested on animals.

I hope you like my favourite pregnancy creams.
Let me know if you’ve tried them or if you have any others you recommend.

Love Pippa x
