Sneak peek – River Island AW15

Hi Everyone
On Wednesday I flew to London bright and early to attend the River Island Autumn Winter 15 press event. Which seemed a little bizarre to me as I haven’t even been in a bikini or shorts yet this year!
Nonetheless that’s what happens in fashion.
I was thrilled to get to go to this one. Unfortunately I don’t get to go to many events due to work and Mummy commitments. As you’ll know from following me, I’m a big River Island fan. They’ve upped the anti with their collections consistently for the past few years. It’s my go-to now for many pieces like coats, faux leather jackets and especially jeans. See my previous post on the Amelies here.
I’m more of a winter clothes lover than a summer one. Unless I was bronzed and living in America, I just don’t get the wear out of my summer pieces either unfortunately.
I’m always excited about Autumn Winter collections and this one didn’t disappoint.
What first stuck me browsing through the rails was how fun and colourful items were. I like black but it’s definitely nice to see injections of colour in winter too.
There was a huge 70’s trend throughout the collection. So the flares are here to stay. I actually haven’t worn a flared pair of jeans myself yet. I keep admiring them on others so I’ll definitely be giving them a bash in the next few months.
I love suede so I was thrilled to see lots of this in handbags , skirts and amazing knee high boots.
My favourite part was without a doubt the faux fur. There were many coats and over sized shawls that looked really high end- and cosy might I add.
For shoe lovers (aren’t we all?) I was happy to see lots of fringing on ankle boots, lace ups and really statement gladiator style high heels. I think once style correctly these are killer!
Needless to say I’ve a list as long as my arm following my trip.
Hope your enjoyed our sneak peek.
We won’t wish summer away just yet! 😉
What do you like the look of?
Much love
