main image

Hi Ladies, in particular brides to be!

On Sunday, 8th November from 12-3pm,  AA Hotel of the Year and ultimate spectacular wedding venue, Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa, will hold their wedding extravaganza, Powerscourt Adores…Weddings showcase to help you organise your special day.

I’m delighted to be back this year sharing my fashion tips, dos and donts when it comes to organising your special day! And general advice on everything bridal. Having got married here myself in 2011 I have such love for this special venue. I’m probably biased but it’s my absolute favourite hotel in the country.

Powerscourt Adores…Weddings showcase will have it covered from floral to photography, cakes to civil ceremonies. They have lined up some of the top suppliers in the country, who will be in attendance with creative ideas for you to choose from. Guests are invited to enjoy the Bridal Fashion Show featuring the most dazzling designer bridal wear, which takes place in the Ballroom from 2pm.

If you book your wedding on the day, you will also receive a free mini-moon at the 5 star resort to enjoy after your Special Day.

So come along, get some ideas if nothing else and enjoy a lovely day.

I’ll see you then

Pippa’s Top Tips For Brides To Be:

1. Skincare

We all want amazing glowy skin for our wedding day.

It’s never too early to start a great skincare routine. So if you’re someone who usually uses face wipes ditch them!! They’re only to be used in emergencies from now on.

Instead invest in some products that you can afford. Cleanser, toner, day moisturiser , night cream, eye cream,  a serum. Also a face mask.

I don’t think you have to spend a small fortune to get good results but I do think it’s crucial to be consistent with whatever you’re using and to really spend those extra few minutes taking your time to do it properly.

Some brands I recommend for your skincare routine are…

*Cleanser ~ Garnier/ First Aid Beauty (cloud10beauty.com) / Elemis cleansing balm/ Nip + Fab glycolic cleanser / Image vital C

* Toner ~ First Aid Beauty facial radiance pads

* Moisturiser ~ First Aid Beauty repair cream / Dermalogica / Kiehls / Image Prevention +

* Night cream ~ Clarins face treatment oil / Elemis night cream

* Eye cream ~ Dermalogica multivitamin powerfirm/ Kiehls

* Face Masks ~ Glamglow (cloud10beauty.com)

2. Hair

For about 4 to 6 months before my wedding I took Kerastase hair supplements which made a huge difference. You can get them in Peter Mark. They’re a little pricey but worth it. There are cheaper alternatives though that you can get in most chemists. I think taking any hair/skin supplements is a good idea.

Also keep getting regular trims. Even If you want your hair to grow get it trimmed. I go to Peter Mark in Stephens green. Terri looks after my colour, she’s fantastic and Michael Doyle styles my hair – he’s super too. Michael did my hair the day of my wedding also, he created the perfect timeless upstyle.

Put treatments into your hair, buy a big tub of coconut oil that you can get in any supermarket. Apply it to dry or wet hair. Wrap your hair up in a towel and leave it for an hour or so before washing out.

3. Water

This tip may seem simple but it’s one that’s easily forgotten.

You need to drink water, water and more water! At least 2 litres a day, and watch your skin transform. Honestly!!

4. Be you

When it comes to make up/tan/hair for your wedding day you want to look like the best version of yourself!

So if you’re not usually into hair extensions or a deep tan don’t suddenly do it because it’s your wedding day and feel you should. You won’t feel like yourself. Practice and explore well in advance if you’d like to but be sure to look like you! 😉

5. Enjoy every minute of the process

Planning a wedding can become overwhelming quite quickly so try to enjoy every last minute of it. Soak all the excitement in and enjoy every step in the process.
