Peter Mark VIP Style Awards
I’m sitting at home in mismatched pyjamas and fluffy purple socks! Most stylish woman I think not!! 😉
I’m absolutely thrilled to have won the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards for the Most Stylish Woman.
I had such a great night with my other Brian!
We literally laugh and laugh the whole time we’re together. I was delighted he was able to come with me.
This week was hectic to say the least. We moved house which is a massive stress, I was very busy with work too so I felt very unorganised when it came to what to wear!
I had bought an amazing 2 piece by Alice and Olivia – it was a red crop top and a full-length cream skirt with beautiful gold embellishment. I tried it on for my sister and hubby and I just felt it was maybe a little casual for the night that was in it. I tried on numerous other dresses during the week too but I didn’t feel overly happy in any.
So on Thursday, my sister and I went on one final search. I never get too stressed but I was starting to get a little panicked at that late stage.
I spotted this Alice and Olivia dress in Harvey Nichols just as we were giving up! My sister said “Oh thank god” – I had her nerves in shreds! Sorry Sue!!
I loved the lace and vintage feel to the dress. I thought the back was beautiful and I liked the simplicity. It was really comfortable too so I knew that was the one.
When I tried it on I was snow white, I love the blush colour but I think it’s a hard colour to wear so I knew I’d need a really good tan.
Michelle Burke sprayed me with a tan I had never used before, it’s called Exposed. It was hands down my favourite spray tan I’ve ever had. I don’t love spray tans, I always find they stink or don’t wear off very well.
This tan dried almost instantly. I didn’t look like a crazy ‘Oompa Loompa’ that day either. I couldn’t believe it didn’t transfer on to my sheets at all. I was really happy with how it developed. It’s a gorgeous golden tan.
I went for a light grey on my nails, done by Michelle too. It’s gelish and the shade is called cashmere kind of gal.
When it came to shoes and a clutch I treated myself (to say the least!)
I bought Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ heels in the cracked champagne colour. The clutch matches the shoes, it has an amazing gold strap which I wrapped around my wrist. I didn’t feel too bad making this investment simply because they’re a great shoe. They’re a classic and the colour will go with everything for years to come. They would be stunning for any brides to be too! (Sorry! Just sayin’!)
The earrings are vintage from Loulerie. I adore these, they look so stunning and eye-catching in person.
I felt like I had enough going on and didn’t add any more accessories.
For make up the lovely Sarah Keary made me up. She did a great job as usual. We brushed some Charlotte Tilbury slimmer shimmer on my arms and legs too. I can’t get enough of this stuff! I believe Brown Thomas are sold out at the moment, I’m sure it’ll be back in stock soon.
My pal Michael Doyle did my hair. I felt it needed to be up to compliment the back of the dress. I asked him for a very undone, grainy looking style.
I said last night that the style awards are all a bit of fun really, not to be taken too seriously. But, to me, doing what I do for a living it really means a lot to me. I’m so grateful and really over the moon.
I was a little emotional accepting the award – (It’s not the Oscars calm down!!) – not because I had won but because I could just imagine my Mum today- on what would have been her birthday. She would have been thrilled for me. So it’s a bittersweet day today. We miss her so much but I like to think she’s smiling down on us all.
Enjoy your weekend what ever you do-
I’m happy here in my pjs relaxing and admiring my award 😉
Here’s some more pictures from the night…
