NYC Shopping Guide

Hi Everyone!
If you or anyone you know is heading to the Big Apple anytime soon hopefully this post will come in handy.
I’ll include some of what I bought from my trip to New York and some areas/shops that are worth checking out.
*MAC
Although the dollar isn’t great at the moment, it’s still cheaper to buy MAC in the States.
They stock things that are impossible to get here too. Like Kylie Jenners famous lip combo ‘Brave’ lippy and ‘Soar’ liner. I went to the soho store one day and they didn’t have Soar but I eventually got it in the Times Square store.
Here’s what I got…
-Brave lipstick
-Soar liner
-Velvet Teddy lipstick
-Oxblood lipgloss
-Angel lipgloss
-Studio Fix (a handbag essential for top ups)
-Medium Deep Sepia (I use as a gloss eyeshadow)
-Prep & Prime 24-hour Extend Eye Base (this is magic – nothing will budge on your lids with this)
*Sephora
I get way too excited in Sephora. It just has the best selection of everything and covers nearly all of your beauty needs.
Their own make up range is worth checking out as it’s really affordable.
Here’s what I got…
-Sephora face mask (yet to try this but according to the sales girl, it’s fantastic! We shall see)
-Make up brush spray cleanser (really handy for a quick clean to keep bacteria at bay in between proper cleaning)
-Buxom lipgloss (only because I liked the packing and it promised to plump you up!)
-Tarte blush
-First Aid Beauty (I love love this brand. I got a small cleanser for travelling. I have lots of this brand already that I got from www.cloud10beauty.com. Can’t recommend it enough)
-Naked skin concealer (fast becoming my new favourite, it’s so weightless but offers amazing coverage)
-Stila set & correct powder (for setting my foundation in place-love this)
-Sephora nude eyeliner for water line to make eyes pop.
-Anastasia Beverly Hills, highlighting duo pencil. If you can get your hands on this you’ll thank me forever. It’s so gorgeous. It sharpens, highlights and defines the shape of your brows. It’s a nude pencil that I use all around my brows. It’s super!
-Clarisonic (I got this for a friend. It was $100 so it’s definitely cheaper in NYC. There’s a more expensive version but to be honest it does the exact same thing.)
*Ricky’s
It was my first time to experience Ricky’s! The girls from Blank Canvas love the place and I can see why. It has everything from shampoo, tan to crazy lotions and potions!
Plenty of NYX too which I know everyone loves!
If you Google them you’ll see a few different locations around the city.
*Soho
You’ll find most shops/boutiques around Soho. It has lots of quirky little places along with all the more expensive high-end brands. I didn’t really buy clothes this time, but I still had a good look everywhere! Don’t be put off by the expensive shops – you never know what sort of sale is going to be on. That’s exactly what happened to me when I went to Halston Heritage. I got a stunning pink silk top and a gold clutch at 70% discount! Amazing!
I also got new Wayfarer Ray Bans in Sunglasses Hut – they’re located everywhere in New York. They’ve an excellent selection of everything too. (See here)
Other shops in Soho that you might like to check out are:
*Cos (I know we have this at home but it’s a lovely store here)
*BCBG (I’m still thinking about that pink dress!! Oh and those black heels)
* Rebecca Minkoff (she has some stunning handbags that are stocked in Macy’s too)
*Stella McCartney
Meatpacking District
*Alice & Olivia
West Village
*If you love vintage shopping and finding something really different
Madison Avenue, Upper East Side
*Kate Spade – this is such a gorgeous shop full of beautiful things. I love the stationary so much.
5th Avenue
* Bergforf Goodman (if you’re a millionaire!… It’s to be experienced though and you can pretend you’re in Sex and The City!)
* Henri Bendel – my favourite jewellery shop, it’s an Aladdin’s cave of sparkly costume jewels)
They have all of the high-end shops here too like Tiffany, Gucci, Armani – everything really.
Abercrombie is here too if that’s of any interest.
*Macy’s, West 34th Street
Macy’s is super for shoes, bags & beauty products. I got Brian a nice shirt here too. It’s a great one-stop shop.
*Victoria’s Secret – various locations.
Treat yourself to some VS underwear.
I love their sister shop ‘Pink’ – I always get nice casual tops here. If you’ve any teenage girls in your life they’ll love Pink too!
*Kleinfeld, 110 West 20th Street
Brides to be! If you’re in the market for buying a wedding dress or bridal accessories! You have to experience Kleinfeld … It’s magical!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my shopping post…
Much love
