Health & Wellbeing Evening with Connacht Gold
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of being MC for a Health and Wellbeing evening organised by Connacht Gold and the National Dairy Council in Breaffy House Resort in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
As some of you may already know I was campaign ambassador for Connacht Gold’s ‘Love The Taste’ campaign a few months ago and after having attended some of their events before, I knew we were all in for treat in Mayo. Over 450 ladies filled the room!
Connacht Gold’s charity partner for this year is the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC), so all proceeds from tickets and a raffle from the night went to this extremely worthy cause.
On the night, I went through some of my fashion staples and chatted about my Holy Grail beauty favourites. I always stress the importance of feeling good and healthy in yourself, especially when chatting to a group of women. Try to wake up with a positive outlook on the day ahead, surround yourself with the people you love and of course, eat healthy.
Healthy eating is very important for my family and I so when I’m doing the grocery shopping, I always include fresh foods and dairy. Connacht Gold Low Fat Butter is one of our favourites at home; it’s a completely unique product. It’s real Irish butter, made from grass fed cows, with just half the fat.
Celebrity Chef Joe Shannon joined us on the night. Not only did he have us all laughing (see for yourself in the video below), he made some very tasty dishes using Connacht Gold products. Joe made Buttermilk and Herb Bread, Spiced Roasted Lamb Leg, Smoked Haddock Cheddar and a Raspberry & Lemon Posset (divine!). Are your mouths watering yet? 😉
Dietician Paula Mee also gave a presentation on the importance of good nutrition. Paula told us that making repeated small and simple changes to your diet can have a truly positive effect, without having to completely change it. I found her talk to be quite motivating and inspiring, as I’m sure the other ladies in attendance did too.
