Give Back This International Women’s Day With Some of Our Favourite Brands
In honour of International Women’s Day taking place this Sunday 8th March, we’ve seen so many of our favourite brands marking this important day by giving back to organisations that support women and gender equality.
What is International Women’s Day? It is an annual global awareness event to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural & political achievements and a call for gender equality.
Luxury fashion retailer Net-a-porter are celebrating International Women’s Day (as well as their 20thanniversary) this years by releasing 20 t-shirts designed by a group of iconic female designers from Stella McCartney to Isabel Marant. All 20 of these designs symbolise female empowerment. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Women for Women International – an organisation, which helps women survivors of war to rebuild their lives.

& Other Stories are “celebrating self-expression through the self-portrait practice” by commissioning nine professional photographers to share their self-portraits for International Women’s Day. These limited edition self-portrait posters are now available to purchase on the & Other Stories website, with all proceeds going to CARE, a poverty-fighting organisation that focuses on women and girls. & Other Stories are also encouraging people on Instagram to share your own self-portrait including the hashtag #herimageherstory. For every tagged Instagram post during March, they will donate €1 to CARE.
River Island are also marking IWD this year. They’ve released a number of slogan t-shirts and hoodies with proceeds going towards Women Supporting Women – a campaign, which works towards helping vulnerable young women build a brighter future.
