Get Valentine’s Day ready with Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks

Hi ladies,
With Valentine’s Day approaching, I’m sure a lot of you are starting to plan your makeup look & outfit for the evening. It’s all part of the fun in getting ready, isn’t it?
There’s no day more fitting to wear a bold red lip colour than Valentine’s Day, I think. Bourjois recently sent me a few shades of their Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick range to try out and I think the red shade ’02 Frambourjoise’ will be perfect for date night. The red colour is quite classic and glamorous and what I love most is that it doesn’t budge. Although it has a matte finish, it’s not drying and still feels very light and velvety on the lips (happy days!).
So naturally, I planned a Valentine’s Day date night outfit around this lipstick 😉 This look would be perfect for a romantic meal and drinks.

Here I’ve kept the rest of my makeup and eyes very simple and let the intense bold lip colour do the talking. I just used one eyeshadow shade, ‘Tobi’ from my palette. I used my fave nude eyeliner by Charlotte Tilbury and I added some individual lashes from Penneys to the corners of my lashes. It’s really so simple but a look I love. What do you think?
I know some people can be a bit hesitant about wearing red lipstick but with a few simple tips, I’m sure you’ll be converted.
My Top Smudge-Proof Tips for wearing Red Lippy:
– Always exfoliate lips beforehand
– Always use a liner
– Layer the product. For an intense bold look, you can build up the coverage using the applicator until you’re happy.
– Keep the rest of your make up soft and let the red lips be the focus
– Use a concealer to clean up the edges around your lips after applying the lipstick. It’s crucial to make the colour pop.
Available in 12 shades, the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks retail at €12.49 and are available now in selected pharmacies including Boots.
