I first came across the Clarisonic while I was in New York about a year and half ago. I was only about 10 weeks pregnant with Ollie and my skin was terrible. I was breaking out in spots every second day.
So off I went to Bloomingdales in search of even more make up! Something to cover these bad boys up!!
While being sold a million products at the Armani counter my very funny and very camp sales assistant said to me “Girlfriend what are you cleaning your face with” I told him I used cleanser ,cotton wool, the usual! He told me “You haven’t lived until you’ve used the Clarisonic”

So obviously I then HAD to buy this little dream machine!
It cost about $120 there.

Honestly I’m so glad I did!

The first time I used it, I was impressed. Its not a harsh brushing motion, but I felt like it was firm enough to really clean my skin. You simply follow the “beep alerts” that tell you when to move on to a new part of your face.

The Clarisonic claims to remove six times more makeup than manual cleansing, cleansing so well that products absorb better – making skin more receptive to skincare ingredients. With regular daily use the Clarisonic reduces dry skin patches, oily areas and blemishes and immediately leaves skin feeling and looking smoother.

I can safely say it does all of the above.

The first noticeable result was the smoothness of my face. I mean, baby skin soft. I couldn’t stop touching it!
The second noticeable result was the way my makeup applied. My liquid foundation went on smoother, and my makeup seemed fresher.

For me I think my skin cleared up after about 2 weeks (it got worse before it got better!)

A few months later we moved house and I actually mis placed the charger and then just forgot about it after I had Ollie.
Recently I found the charger and started using it again about 2 weeks ago.
I don’t have any spots or blemishes now (thank god!) but I’m noticing a definite change to my skin again.
It much brighter , fresher and very smooth to touch.

But it’s only sold in the states I hear ya say! Nope, the good news is Clarasonic launched here in Ireland a few months ago. I’ve seen it in Brown Thomas and House of Frasier, Dundrum.
A little pricey but in my opinion well worth it, the Clarisonic Pink Mia 2 (my one)
is €149 in Brown Thomas.

In conjugation with the Clarisonic I’ve recently started using the Body Shops ‘Camomile’ cleansing oil. I’ve never used an oil cleanser before, probably because I thought it would leave my skin greasy.
Not this one though, it’s fantastic.

This silky-soft cleanser effortlessly removes make-up from the whole face quickly and effectively, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and clear of impurities. It’s the ultimate time-saver.
Its Suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers and it
even removes waterproof make-up!
I’m really happy to have discovered this cleanser. You should try it out even if you don’t go with the Clarisonic too. After you lather it up and massage your face use a warm face cloth to remove the cleanser. It costs €17.20. You can even buy online www.thebodyshop.ie

Let me know if you’ve tried these and what you think.. And as always I love hearing about any beauty secrets you have that I don’t know about 😉
