Urban Decay’s Summer 2016 Collection

If you follow me on social media, you probably would have seen that we attended a special Urban Decay Summer Collection presentation last night. As part of their ‘#UDGetaway’, we were whisked away for the night to the very opulent Tankardstown House in Co. Meath along with some other fab blogger gals.

After checking into our rooms and getting ourselves ready for the night, we got to have a look at Urban Decay’s brand new summer collection, launching tomorrow (31^st March) in selected Debenhams stores and online, as well as House of Fraser, Dundrum.

All of the products were there for us to play around with and swatch… a blogger’s paradise basically! 😉 The collection is made up of a skin perfector with SPF20, 3 super glowy highlighters, a beautifully packaged matte bronzer in a light-medium and a medium-dark shade, 2 new shades of the popular 24/7 eye pencils and an extension of shades to my ultimate fave Naked Skin concealer.

After getting a sneak peek of the collection, we went for a gorgeous dinner in Brabazon Restaurant, which is located on the grounds. The table was set beautifully with flowers and lots of little purple details to represent Urban Decay of course. 😉 It was really intimate and so lovely to catch up with all of the girls there.

Now onto the collection…

First up, is the Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector. The idea of this product is right up my alley. It’s said to be lighter than a foundation but still covers any imperfections and feels weightless on the face. It’s a multitasking cream loaded with vitamins, peptides and other nourishing ingredients. It is supposed to “combine all the benefits of skin treatment and perfection with the coverage of sheer foundation.” Sounds good to me! This comes in 6 shades – I got matched to ‘Medium Light.’

We actually tried this product this morning when getting ready. It’s very light and definitely buildable. It’s one of those products that’s ideal for those days when you don’t want to wear a full face of foundation – it would be good for holidays too as it contains SPF 20. And another handy thing about it is it has an airless pump. Most of you beauty junkies will understand the convenience of that, right? The RRP is €32.

How gorgeous is the packaging on the ‘Beached Bronzer’ compact? Nothing says summer like palm trees! This comes in two shades: ‘Sun-Kissed’ which is a matte light medium bronzer, and ‘Bronzed’ which is a matte medium-dark bronzer. It also has a mirror too making it ideal for popping into your bag. This is retailed at €29.

We got to swatch Urban Decay’s new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighters in the shades ‘Sin’ (a champagne colour), ‘Fireball’ (peachy) and ‘Aura’ (an iridescent light pink). Who doesn’t appreciate a good highlighter when they see one? We love the look of dewy and illuminated skin, especially in summer and these shades are just stunning. Their recommend retail price is €28 each.

Next, there’s two brand new shades to the 24/7 eye pencil range, which I’m sure you’ve all heard of or tried (€19.50 each). These two shades are very natural and all about making your eyes appear bigger and bright. The shade ‘Heartless’ is a very light frosted pink and ‘Walk of Shame’ is a nude, obviously with the aim of making you look fresh and awake! 😉

And lastly, Urban Decay have added some darker shades to their Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. If you don’t already know, this concealer is probably one of my favourites ever. It’s so light and not at all cakey, but still covers any spots and blemishes as well as not creasing under the eyes. Although the new shades wouldn’t match my skin, we were told these could also be used for contouring so we’ll definitely be giving that a go and let you know how we get on. This is €22.
