Often thought of as unflattering and manly, the culotte trend has resurrected itself from the early 90s and has taken the fashion world by storm for 2015.

Although some people may shudder at the thought of culottes becoming a more regular fixture found in shops and on celebs, us here at pippa.ie are very excited about this fresh and chic trend.

Culottes are considered to be somewhat of an unconventionally sexy trend in fashion – ‘the midi skirt’s edgier sister’, as we like to call it!

However, they’re surprisingly very flattering on a lot of women’s bodies – they highlight your waist and skim over your hips and thighs. The wide leg style can be a bit daunting for some, but believe it or not, they actually create the illusion of slimmer legs. They just hit the lower calf, showing off skinny ankles.

Style them with a fitted top and fab heels and you’re sure to pull off this androgynous trend with a girly twist.
