Top 5 Midi Skirts
Move over mini and maxi skirts, this spring it’s all about the sophisticated midi skirt. Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and The City famously put this gorgeous style on the map when she wore that ballerina-like mint tulle version. (Who could forget it?) Ever since, this chic and elegant skirt has been favoured by some of our favourite fashionistas from Jessica Alba to Miranda Kerr. Is it any wonder we want to hop on the bandwagon too?
#1: A few days ago, I posted a picture of a pink midi skirt on Facebook and so many of you loved it. After plenty of online window shopping, we eventually came across this fabulous number from Coast. The feminine silhouette this skirt makes it beautiful and the slightly shorter hem at the front makes it so unique. I’ve ear-marked this for a wedding next month and think it will be perfect with a black or white cami top, pointed court heels and a statement necklace. Definition of classy!
#2: Polka dots have made quite an impact in the fashion world and did we mention monochrome is big this year too? This River Island midi skirt would look gorgeous with a fitted jumper tucked in making it a perfect transitional piece to add to your wardrobe! We imagine a pair of sunnies and some red lipstick with this look would be the epitome of Parisian chic, what do you think? 😉
#3: This textured pale blue mii skirt from Topshop screams pastel perfection. This skirt would look great with a plain tank top, a dainty blouse or even a slouchy tee tucked in for laid-back glam. The colour as well as the versatile style would make this perfect for a holiday paired with flat sandals as well.
#4: Last week, we looked at printed trousers and this week we’re also saying skirts with bold prints get our seal of approval. This H&M midi skirt paired with a simple black top, black heels and accessories would look effortlessly chic. Let the skirt do the talking.
