Celebrity Salon is harder than it looks, says ex-contestant Pippa (The Herald)

MODEL Pippa O’Connor has warned the new batch of Celebrity Salon stars to brace themselves for a tough two weeks.

The Herald, 12 June 2012

The 27-year-old, who took part in the first series of the TV3 programme, has revealed how many of the tasks are a lot harder than they look.

“It’s not as easy as it looks at all,” she told the Diary.

“I went in thinking, ‘I know how to do my hair, I know how to do my make-up and tan, I get it done all the time’.

“But it is hard to do it yourself so go in being very open-minded and willing to learn. My advice would be to let yourself learn new things as these treatments you get done all the time are really hard to do on someone else.”

She also revealed how she reckoned she would have done better on the show — but she was too distracted by Big Brother presenter Brian Dowling.

“I probably had too much fun because I met my lifelong gay friend in there. Myself and Brian just got on, so we just messed together the whole time. He was just hysterical.

“We shared a bedroom for about two weeks and had the best fun ever. I never laughed so much. I don’t regret being such a messer but I probably would have done better if I had put my mind to it.”

She also said how she still gags at the thought of some of the procedures she had to do on the show, particularly “giving pedicures to strange men”.

But she said she would still be up for doing another reality show, if the right one came along.

Celebrity Salon 3 sees Nadia Forde coming on board, alongside Glenda Gilson, Layla Flaherty, Eamon Fennell, Nikki Grahame and Julian Simmons.

The celebrities will all have to live in a house together as they compete to learn all the tricks of the beauty trade until one winner remains.
